County's squad are indebted to Burnage Rugby Club for the use of their superb facilities as a training venue today.
With the recent poor weather affecting the grass pitches that the squad usually use, Burnage manager Andy Green was quick to offer their services "I knew Jim Gannon from his time working with Stockport Boys 'elite' footballers, and so when he requested the use of our facilities I was happy to help out."
"Our pitch is used regularly by local junior football teams Stockport Vikings, and Reddish Vulcan's and the Respect Under 8's League also play here on a Saturday, so we know that the surface is suitable for the County squad to train on."
With his Hatters squad preparing for their second pre-season game, at Lancaster City tonight, Jim Gannon was full of praise for his opposite number at Burnage "I would like to place on record my thanks to Andy and Burnage RFC for their superb gesture in allowing us, at such short notice' full use of the facilities at his club"
"As with our recent work with Life Leisure, Cheadle Town, Elite Performance Gym, Linotype-Cheadle Heath Nomads and Stockport Academy, we are continuing to rebuild the football club's stature within the borough, and with that in mind it is important that we create and build solid relationships with all of the town's sporting networks."
