Last season's top scorer re-joins Hatters on half-season loan

The Hatters are set to secure the return of Danny L. Rowe to Edgeley Park on a half-season loan from Fleetwood Town, he will stay with County until 1st January, 2013*.

This is the second time that last season's Conference Champions have allowed Danny to join the Hatters on loan.

Despite only being with County for three months, Rowe finished as our top league goal scorer last season. He struck eight in his 17 games, including doubles against Newport and Lincoln.

The former Manchester United trainee Rowe had joined parent club Fleetwood from Kendal Town in 2011 before spending the earlier part of 2011-12 on loan at Droylsden, for whom he scored 12 times.

James Gannon, speaking about his latest signing said: "I think we have a very talented and exciting array of attackers in Danny Hattersley, Craig Hobson, Tom Collins and Danny Whitehead but i have always felt we needed another attacking player to give us the depth and tactical versatility either from the start of games or during different phases of matches.

"I have always had it in my mind that Danny would complement our attackers perfectly. We have all seen his fantastic finishing techniques, but he also possess a penetrative ability in his passing and superb set plays. He is a proven goal scorer at this level and has been a very popular member of the playing staff here at Edgeley Park. Therefore, I think this signing will be a huge boost both for the staff and players, and most especially our fans."

County vice-Chairman Spencer Fearn said earlier today "I am delighted to be welcoming Danny back to Edgeley Park. We saw what an important player he was for us last season. Jim and Alan are working tremendously hard and are certainly building an exciting and competitive side.

"We have been pleased with reaching the 1,700 season ticket mark and this commitment from our fans has allowed us to secure Danny's services. We set an ambitious target of 1,883 and are confident that we can achieve this with the fantastic backing of our support and like all County fans I cannot wait for the season to start".
