Stockport County are delighted to announce the appointment of Darije Kalezić as first-team manager.
Swiss-born Darije has previously managed in Holland and Belgium. Having initially been appointed coach of De Graafschap's reserves in 2006, he became assistant and then took over the first team in 2009, winning the Eerste Divisie (the second tier of Dutch football) at the first attempt, finishing ten points clear and taking the 'Coach of the Year' award in the process. The following season Kalezić led them to safety in the Eredivisie.
In the summer of 2011, as Guus Hiddink was sure he was going to return as Chelsea's manager he had already earmarked Darije Kalezić to be part of his backroom staff, instead Kalezić joined Belgian club Zulte Waregem as Head Coach.
There will be a press conference at Edgeley Park* on Monday afternoon at 3pm to introduce Darije.
The club is also due to announce a new British assistant manager within the next few days.
Stockport County's vice-chairman Spencer Fearn described the appoint as a "reflection of the future direction of the club".
Ryan McKnight, CEO of Stockport County said that he was "delighted to have been able to attract such a high calibre coach".
Alan Lord will continue to prepare the players and will take charge of Tuesday's game away at Gateshead.
