STOCKPORT County are delighted to announce the signing of Striker Phil Jevons. Assistant manager Alan Lord said of the club's latest signing: "Phil is a player who we have admired for some time, he is a major signing for the club, a proven goal scorer who will be an instant hit with our fantastic supporters"
Jevons told the club website: "having played at Edgeley Park several times in the past, I am excited about playing for this club in front of the supporters and the prospect of a successful season"
Jevons is a product of the youth academy at Premier League side Everton and was promoted to the clubs first team squad in 1996.
Having made only 8 league appearances for the 'toffees' before being sold to Grimsby Town in 2001.
Whilst with Grimsby he famously scored a last minute 45 yard extra time winning goal for The Mariners at Anfield against his home town club Liverpool in the third round of the League Cup which gave The Mariners a 2–1 victory.
Following a loan spell at Hull City Jevons joined Yeovil Town where he hit 42 goals in 84 appearances in a two year spell before signing for Bristol City.
In 2008 he joined Huddersfield Town permanently following a short loan spell. Following further loan spells at Bury and Morecambe he signed with Morecambe on a permanent basis notching up 12 goals in 65 appearances in his two year stay.
Most recently took his first step into Non-league football by signing for Hyde for whom he netted 16 League and Cup goals.
