Stockport College is 120 in November of this year, having opened its doors to the people of Stockport for the first time in 1889. The college was graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2008 and is a friendly and welcoming place to study.
The College offers a diverse range of courses, high level of teaching, great facilities and excellent student support. Both the Town Centre Campus and Heaton Moor Campus are conveniently located, with excellent transport links, specialist equipment and excellent learning resources.

These range from general facilities such as large libraries, refectories and multi-gym to cutting edge in-class resources such as motorcycle diagnostic equipment. The College has exceptionally strong student support with a range of specialist teams who provide careers guidance, welfare advice, counselling, accessibility support and more.
The College provides Further and Higher Education to those aged 16 and above, as well as school links programmes for students from local schools in Year 10 and 11. The college will also be participating in the New Diplomas from September 2009.
The College has a well-established history and plays a major role in providing educational opportunities for the community including school leavers, businesses and overseas students.
The College provision includes a wide variety of academic and vocational courses from numeracy and literacy to degree level. There is a course for any student, regardless of their previous achievements and people can enter at any level.
Stockport College provides local people with a 'degree on their doorstep'. Students can access Higher Education easily and graduate with a degree from Liverpool John Moores University, UCLan , Manchester Metropolitan University and Thames Valley University.
Stockport College works closely with many local employers through its Apprenticeship programme which crosses a very wide range of occupational areas; in each case there is the opportunity to be employed or enter work placement, whilst at the same time receiving training. Apprenticeship programmes are designed for young people and adults between 16 -24 years of age, subject to status.
The College has developed a business arm 'Stockport Training for Business' which provides bespoke staff training for national and local employers to build their skills and meet their training and development needs.
Stockport College has a continuous improvement philosophy throughout with the emphasis very much on the learner being at the heart of the College.
