ASHDENE PRIMARY TO REPRESENT COUNTY

Half-time in Saturday's game against Brentford saw the local final of the Under 11s Football League Community Cup.

Alexandra Park Primary (Edgeley) took on Ashdene Primary (Wilmslow) at half time, with Ashdene running out 2-0 winners in normal time, with the match refereed by ex-County favourite Rob Clare.

Ashdene Primary School now go on to represent Stockport County, in full County kit, in the divisional final which will take place at Huddersfield Town AFC on Wednesday 21st April 2010.

Ashdene will be competing with winning schools representing Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Oldham Athletic, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Hartlepool United and Walsall for a place in the national final at Wembley.

Mike Smith, Community Officer, said "We have had a fantsastic response to this year's competition, with nearly 100 Primary Schools participating and heats taking place in Stockport, Tameside, High Peak and Macclesfield. Well done to Ashdene Primary for making it all the way to Huddersfield; next stop Wembley!"
