Stockport County Community Foundation have launched an exciting new project in the High Peak, 'County4All'. The aim of the project is to bring Primary Schools in Buxton, Glossop, New Mills and surrounding areas closer to Stockport County FC.
Each school participating in 'County4All' will be offered six activities (After School Session KS1, After School Session KS2, Stockport County FC - Player Visit, Sponsored Skills Challenge, Ticket Initiative and an In Set Day Soccer Course), which they can choose which activity they want in each of the six terms.
Our Manager, Paul Simpson, has agreed to email each participating school on a monthly basis, to keep the teachers and pupils up to date with things on the pitch.
48 Schools have been invited to take part, with approx 15 already signed up with dates and activities confirmed. The confirmed schools will start the project in September 2010, with many more expected to come on board in October.
The project is being coordinated by our Rural Development Officer, Paul Hancock, and is kindly sponsored by the University of Derby (Buxton), who are proud sponsors of Stockport County FC and the Community Foundation.
Community Foundation Officer, Mike Smith, said "We are looking forward to visiting and forming partnerships with isolated schools and introducing them to Stockport County FC. The Community Foundation have established good links with schools such as Hayfield Primary, Duke of Norfolk Primary (Glossop), New Mills Primary, Chinley Primary amongst others and we are hoping to have contact with the majority of the High Peak schools, providing them with safe, fun, enjoyable and rewarding activities throughout the season."
