Stockport County Community Foundation are pleased to announce that Jordan Rose is to be our Ambassador for Kick Racism out of Football, for the 2010/11 season. Kick Racism out of Football will be holding their 'One Game, One Community' weeks of action between 14th and 26th October 2010, with our home game versus Barnet FC, being allocated our Kick it Out fixture.
The weeks of action and the 'One Game, One Community' message provides professional clubs with a platform to highlight their ongoing equality work and community engagement initiatives, and to promote inclusion across all areas of football. It is a time when clubs will join community groups, schools, libraries, prisons and grassroots clubs to celebrate the diversity in the game.
Last season saw a huge array of activities taking place at all professional clubs. A number of clubs also developed new activities and initiatives to strengthen their involvement including educational days, enhanced on pitch activities and player appearances.
Stockport County Community Foundation are currently working with the Cheadle Muslim Association at Cheadle Mosque, to deliver coaching sessions each Saturday afternoon, from 2pm to 4pm, for 12-18 year olds. The group will attend 10 sessions, with them all then attending our Kick it Out fixture versus Barnet.
Our thanks go to Jordan Rose, Keeley Temple at Kick it Out, Seb Rowe at Stockport Sports Trust and Usman Choudry at Cheadle Muslim Association.
