Oli Johnson showed more glimpses of his potential in an entertaining first half at Crilly Park.
The former Nostell Miners Welfare striker, a constant threat, gave County the lead on the half hour following great work from James Vincent.
And, either side of his goal, he brought fine saves out of home 'keeper Andy Hewitt.
Hewitt also made a good save just before the break, diving to his right to keep out a powerful 25-yard drive from skipper Greg Tansey.
Kicking down a big slope the Hatters enjoyed most of the possession but it wasn't all one-way traffic with the Vodkat League outfit, playing some nice football, causing one or two anxious moment for the County defence.
The second half was well contested although chances at either end were at a premium and County, with several of their youth team squad introduced on the hour, saw the game out comfortably.
County: Astbury (Bell); Halls, Havern, J Thompson, Jackson (Lawton); Tansey, J Vincent (Holmes), Mainwaring (Wilkie); Ennis (Ratcliffe), Johnson (Ennis), D Pilkington (R Vincent).
