CHORLEY 3 COUNTY 0

Posted on: Wed 25 Mar 2009

A young County side were beaten 3-0 at Chorley this evening (Feb 18).

Gavin Lee-Ellison fired the UniBond outfit ahead after 20 minutes with Seydou Bamba doubling the advantage just before the break.

In between Darren Green was unlucky not to equalise when his first time shot from Danny Pilkington's left-wing cross hit a defender on the line.

And Greg Tansey also came close with a trademark free kick that was well saved by the 'keeper.

Steve Burke made the game safe for the Magpies with a third goal after an hour, although Paul Turnbull was unlucky not to reduce the deficit when he raced onto Tansey's pass and hit a shot over the keeper that, unfortunately, bounced to safety off the cross bar.

County: Rigby; Ennis, Crook (Jackson), Tansey, Bailey, J Thompson, Green, Lees, Turnbull (Ratcliffe), J Vincent (Holmes), Pilkington (Halls).

Unused sub: Astbury.
