WE'LL STICK TO OUR PRINCIPLES

Posted on: Thu 15 May 2008

Jim Gannon insists County won't be drawn into a physical battle when Wycombe visit Edgeley Park in Saturday's promotion showdown.

Five Chairboys players were booked in the first leg with Liam Dickinson, in particular, singled out for some heavy treatment.

But the County chief, whilst acknowledging his side will have to stand up to a physical challenge, maintains County will try and play the free-flowing attacking football that has won so many admirers this season.

Speaking exclusively to County Radio, Jim said: "The footballers we have are strong enough to compete in any physical battle but we are going to stick to our principles because we certainly don't want the game to get into a battle.

"We will have to be resilient when it gets physical but we'll just keep playing, trying to get the ball down and try to open the game up."
