SENIORS The first team (pictured) had a tricky home match against League newcomers, Liverpool Feds and found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes, but worse was to come for County when Liverpool struck again on 28 minutes. Then, on the stroke of half-time, Sarah Stones saw red for a late challenge. 2-0 down, playing into the wind and down to 10 players, County battled against the odds and a much improved second-half performance saw numerous chances go begging before substitute, Nicki Daniels pulled one back on 87 minutes.
Player of the match, keeper, Laura Bowater saved a penalty in injury time to keep County's hopes of point alive but the equaliser proved elusive and the Hatters eventually ran out of time to suffer their first home defeat of the season.
County's Reserves made it four in a row by taking three points from previously unbeaten Wythenshawe Amateurs. Goals from Neya Webb, her 16th of the season, along with strikes from defender, Jade Wilson and Kim Seddon, on her debut, were enough to maintain County's 100% start to the season. Player of the Match was Grace Campbell.
After last weekend's victory over Chester City Ladies Reserves, Blues were well-beaten by newly promoted Northwich Vixens, 7-0. Only 1-0 down at half-time, Blues started the second half confidently but, despite a string of fine saves from Player of the Match, keeper Dawn Bolton, Vixens netted six more to inflict Blues with another heavy defeat.
JUNIORS County's Under-15s derby against rivals Man City was a pulsating contest played end-to-end. The Hatters had a goal ruled out for offside on the stroke of half-time then, to make matters worse, City grabbed a last-gasp strike to go into the break with a one goal lead.
Both sides had chances to score in the second half but, with two minutes to play, City increased their lead, and then scored two more in injury time, one from the penalty-spot, to record a 4-0 win. County's Player of the Match was ex-City defender, Isabella Worsley.
With more twists and turns than a J.K. Rowling novel, the Under-13s match with Curzon Ashton proved to be an exciting encounter and a great advert for girls' football!
County came back from 1-0 down to take the lead thanks to two strikes from Beth Clark. Curzon then scored twice in quick succession midway through the second half to regain the lead but the Hatters grabbed a deserved equaliser, again from Beth Clark to record her first hat-trick of the season. Midfield maestro, Kayleigh Seddon, playing against her previous club was County's Player of the Match.
The Under-12s continued their fine form, dispatching Delamere Rangers 7-1, but they had to thank keeper, Minnie Kenworthy for an outstanding display in goal. A hat-trick from Grace Byrne, two from Chloe Flanagan and one each from Megan Watson and Megan Yapp ensured they stay top of the table with three wins out of three.
Another inspired, Player of the Match performance from keeper Rebekah Sadgrove along with goals from Natalie Watson (2) and Paige Tomlinson helped the Under-11s record their first victory of the season by beating Urmston Meds, 3-1.
