County Ladies Under 16's represented Cheshire County FA in the Tesco Cup - a New National 11-a-side competition - on Saturday and did so extremely well, only losing out to Liverpool FA in the semi-final on penalties.

The girls topped their group having won all of their matches. The opened the day with a 1 - 0 win over Derbyshire FA with a goal from Sophie Williams. Captain Olivia Hockin then scored the only goal in a 1 - 0 win over North Riding FA. In the final group game the girls faced the Isle of Man FA team and two goals from Chantelle Kelly saw them make it 3 straight wins with no goals conceded.

The semi- final finished 1 - 1 (Chantelle Kelly) and the game went to penalties with the County girls losing out 4-2.

The girls had performed really well throughout the tournament and were really unlucky not to make the final but they had the added bonus of our players Sophie Williams being named player of the tournament and Cheryl Burns coming runner up.

County's Under-14s were also in action on Saturday with an 8 - 0 win over Deans Sports.

The goal scorers were Libby Nolan 4, Cory Fritz 2, Tiree Vallance and Dawn Gordon. Player of the Match was Clare Lee.

The Reserves travelled to Blackburn where they were beaten 5 - 0. Celeste Gardener was Player of the Match.
