FRIENDLIES LIST

Posted on: Mon 23 Jun 2008
Stockport County will be facing a Liverpool XI & Manchester City at Edgeley Park this summer, as we continue to celebrate our 125th Anniversary.

It will be the Reds' first visit to Edgeley since 1984, when County held the then-European Cup holders to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of our League Cup 2nd Round tie. The Hatters went on to lose 2-0 in the return game at Anfield.

Visits from near-neighbours Manchester City have been more frequent since then, with the last match against City being the memorable victory in the 01/02 season. County has been relegated the previous weekend, but two late, late goals from John Hardiker saw us shock the eventual First Division winners 2-1.

Away from home, County will be travelling to play Unibond First Division side Cammell Laird, of Birkenhead; Playoff final opponents Rochdale at Spotland; and neighbours Macclesfield Town at the Moss Rose.

The U21 Development Squad will be paying visits to local sides Woodley Sports, Mossley and Chorley.
