County fans travelling to Belfast for County's game against Linfield on Saturday may get a glimpse of Michael Ricketts.

The former England striker has been training with the Hatters this week trying to impress Gary Ablett, and the County chief may give him a run out at Windsor Park in Glenn Ferguson's Testimonial.

Ricketts is currently a free agent after being released by Walsall at the end of last season. Once a £3.5m signing for Middlesbrough, he has also served Bolton Wanderers, Leeds United, Stoke City, Cardiff City, Burnley, Southend United, Preston North End and Oldham Athletic.

Meanwhile, the Hatters are still waiting to hear whether Josh Thompson will be joining Glasgow Celtic.

The two clubs have agreed a fee for the young defender and Josh, after requesting a move, was given permission to talk to the Scottish giants.
