ROSEY'S PINK SHIRT ON OFFER
Posted on: Thu 03 Sep 2009
The hammer went down on our third pink & black shirt yesterday (Sep 2) and the lucky winner was Gavin Eyquem from Stockport, who paid a cool £255 for Adam Griffin's pre-season jersey - the highest price so far.
Added to the £410 we have raised from the sale of Greg Tansey's and Carl Baker's shirts this means the total sum we will donate to Leukaemia Research now stands at £665, and we would like to thank everyone for taking part in the three auctions.
We are now delighted to announce that auction number 4 is up and running and the shirt on offer now is the one worn by Michael Rose.
Click here to bid or view the auction.
Rosey almost joined Hartlepool in the summer but delighted the Blue & White Army when he agreed a new deal to keep him at Edgeley Park. He has made an outstanding start to the new campaign and, on Tuesday, he was handed the captain's armband at Crewe in the absence of injured skipper Michael Raynes; his jersey is sure to prove hugely popular.
As an added bonus the winner can, if required, have the shirt signed and presented by Rosey on a matchday here at Edgeley Park.
You may recall that only 30 of these distinctive jerseys were made and that all the money raised will go to Leukaemia Research's work into finding treatments and cures for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Leukaemia Research was chosen as a charity because blood cancers have affected the lives of the families of players and staff.
The shirt also has a historical link as County wore cerise pink shirts for their very first Football League game in 1900 against Leicester Fosse.
We hope to raise a considerable sum for this very worthy charity so your continued support would be very much appreciated.
