The local final of the Football League Community Cup will take place at Edgeley Park on Saturday, during the half-time break between County and Brentford.
Nearly 100 primary schools set out last November, bidding for a place in the final to represent Stockport County in the divisional finals.
After holding stages in Stockport (x 3), Dukinfield, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Macclesfield, the play-off day took place with 16 finalists from the previous round competing at the Power League complex for a place in today's showpiece final.
Alexandra Park Primary (Edgeley) will take on Ashdene Primary (Wilmlsow) in the final at half-time today, with our special guest, former County star Rob Clare, returning to Edgeley Park to referee the game.
The winners today will then go onto the divisional finals next month at Huddersfield Town, complete with Stockport County kit, to play the winning schools representing Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Hartlepool United, Oldham Athletic, Leeds United, MK Dons, Norwich City and Walsall.
The overall winners from there will go onto play the winners from the divisional final held for the Southern based clubs, at Wembley Stadium prior to the League One Play Off Final.
Good luck to both Alexandra Park and Ashdene; please give both schools a lot of encouragement and support.
Our thanks go to all the schools who entered this years Football League Community Cup - Under 11's, The Football League Trust, Power League, Stockport Sports Trust and our very own Rob Clare. Enjoy the Final.
