Stockport County Manager Paul Simpson was working right up to the last minute to try and bring in some new faces before the transfer window shut today.
"After two weeks of negotiation regarding early settlements of player's contracts, we have agreed terms with Gianluca Havern, Sam Hare and today Richie Partridge. On behalf of the club I would like to thank all three for their efforts whilst at Stockport County"
The timing of the settlements left very little time for the County boss to negotiate for players to join County before the 'window' shut whether it be on loan deals or full time, although he was agonisingly close to agreeing the services of one Premiership player on loan until January.
"Stockport County fans can be assured that no-one is more disappointed by the display at the weekend than I am, we are working very hard to bring fresh faces in, and with the funds released today we are in a position to do that when the 'loan' window opens again next week"
There was however some good news on the signing front today as Robbie Williams joined the club on a full time contract.
