When Paul Turnbull replaced Stuart Barlow after 81 minutes of our League One clash with Wrexham on April 30, 2005, he became the youngest player to play a League game in Stockport County's history.
The midfielder, who joined our Centre of Excellence at the age of 11, had incredibly made just one appearance for our youth team and two appearances for the reserves before his big moment against the Red Dragons.
Turnbull was 170 days younger than Jimmy Collier, who held the previous record after making his debut against Bristol Rovers on April 8, 1969.
Born in the Heaton Norris district of Stockport the young Collier understudied for the inimitable Len Allchurch against Rovers, who won the Third Division clash at Edgeley Park 1-0 in front of 4,486.
Collier made 24 appearances the following season - which saw County relegated to Division Four - scoring his first Hatters' goal in the 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town on October 18 1969.
A versatile, two-footed player, Jimmy played in every forward position at Edgeley Park, and in both full-back slots, before completing his career at his only League club at the end of the 1973-74 season.
Collier made 107 League appearances for County, scoring 12 goals.
Andy Halls, who was nine days away from his 17th birthday when he came off the bench to replace James Tunnicliffe at Leeds United on April 11, 2009, became the eleventh 16-year-old to play for County.
And the most recent was Tom Fisher, who came off the bench to make his Hatters' debut late in the victory over Crewe Alexandra at Edgeley Park on April 24, aged 16 years 300 days.
