Stockport County crashed out of the Cheshire County FA Senior Cup competition at the quarter final stage at Winsford tonight.
A young County side had no answer against their experienced opponents who took the lead after 12 minutes when a right wing corner was headed in despite claims of handball against the Winsford player.
Winsford increased their lead on 35 minutes before Martin Gritton reduced the arrears with a close range header on 38 minutes.
The home side increased their lead to 3-1 on 51 minutes and despite concerted pressure on the home defence, goal keeper Andrew Jones pulled of a series of good saves to frustrate County's efforts.
The final goal came on 60 minutes and despite lots of possession, County were unable to breakdown a resolute Winsford defence, who held out to earn a semi-final tie against Stalybridge Celtic.
