Having previously trained at William Scholes Playing Fields in Gatley and at Egerton in Knutsford, Stockport County moved to Manor Farm in Timperley, a former Civil Service sport & social facility, around 2000.

The 24-acre site has proven a big boost to the club since - it's a facility that many larger clubs can be jealous of, and is always a selling point when signing players.

It's the home of manager Jim Gannon's day-to-day office, where he eyes up opposition, works on tactics and generally plots County's future successes. It's also the home to nine youth teams, the U21 Development Squad and of course the First Team.

To fit them all in, there are three full-sized pitches, matched to the dimensions of the Edgeley Park pitch, and five smaller pitches for the Centre of Excellence.

To look after everyone, there's a physio room with all the equipment you'd expect, including ultrasound, and four changing rooms. The boot room has room for 250 boots.

The canteen can cater for up to 70, and for rest & relaxation the games area has darts, pool & table tennis, and of course Sky Sports News is on most of the day!

The facility had been beginning to show its age so, in the summer of 2008, the Stockport County Junior Supporters Club arranged working parties to set about tidying Manor Farm up - painting, cleaning, gravelling, cutting hedges, putting up fencing and all sorts of general improvements. The training ground is looking even better for their efforts.
