A fantastic early savee from John Ruddy denied Yom Doherty . Firstly he lashed a shot in from 18-yards after great hold up from target man Delroy Facey, and then after twisting and turning in the penalty area he tried an audacious lob but fortunately for County it went well over.
At the other end Dicko went close when he shot wide, following good work down the left wing. In the end his chance went well wide.
The Hatters were dealt a real blow when Michael Raynes limped out of the action with another hamstring strain. Jim MCnulty came off the bench to replace him.
Emotions were running high in the opening stages of this game. Paul Lambert and Jim Gannon had a few heated exchanges.
County found themselves a goal down at half time after Delroy Facey took advantage of a rare Ruddy mistake. He controlled a poor clearance from the 'keeper then held off the challengeof Gaz Owen and McNulty before finishing neatly.
Second Half
Good work from Dickinson found Tommy Rowe in space, but the young winger could not provide the amunition as County went in search of the equaliser.At the other Gary Holt went close as County held on.Dicko was causing a nuisance of himself, but the stubborn Wycombe defence held on.
Rose missed a good chance to equalise on the 76th minute with a free-kick from the edge of the area, that The Chairboys blocked.
Moments later Matty Phillips was lucky to stay on the pitch after a poor tackle on Dicker, as the game moved to a conclusion.
Stephen Gleeson produced a moment of magic on 82 minutes when he hit an awesome volley from 20 yards to send the County fans into wonderland.
It was a magnificent finish and it inspired County to look for a winner with Pilkington going desperately close as the Hatters piled on the pressure. Moments later Gleeson tried to repeat his earlier magic, but this time his volley was off target.
