Gary Ablett named an unchanged side for the trip to West Yorkshire. The Gaffer made one change on the bench, though, with fit again Adam Griffin returning in place of the injured Oli Johnson.
Battling County thoroughly deserved their share of the spoils on a sunny afternoon at the Galpharm.
In a game of few clear cut chances the Hatters had the best two. With just 48 seconds on the clock Paul Huntington's inch-perfect pass released Nicholas Bignall. The stinker's first touch set him up but he failed to hit the target.
Then, deep into added time at the end of the game Cark Baker found Peter Thompson on the right. The substitute raced clear and fed David Poole. The winger cut inside and had a clear opportunity. Lee Peltier managed to get a slight block in and take the steam out of the shot and a relieved Alex Smithies made the save
Town's best moments were generally inspired by Antony Kay. And the former Tranmere man came close to opening the scoring after24 minutes when his screaming shot from the edge of the box bounced to safety off the top of the bar.
Huddersfield had a lot of possession after the break but the Hatters' well organised back four were in commanding form.
They had to survive some anxious moments midway through the half, though. Fon Williams saved well from the Terriers' leading scorer, Justin Rhodes.
But from the next attack the top of the bar came to the 'keepers rescue; this time Gary Roberts was the unlucky player.
Kay saw a shot deflected wide and former County favourite Anthony Pilkington then forced Fon Williams into a save as the Terriers forced the pace.
But you always felt the Hatters had a goal in them and even after Poole's miss they came close when Baker saw a shot deflected just wide.
A match report will appear here after the final whistle.
