Gary Ablett was dealt a blow when Paul Huntington failed a late fitness test on the calf he injured at Norwich on Easter Monday; skipper Johnny Mullins moved inside to partner Danny Swailes with Andy Halls coming in at right back.

Jemal Johnson was also missing as a disciplinary measure; David Poole was his replacement.

Steve Murty, who scored the winner for County Youth was on the bench. Strangely, both sides only named six substitutes.

Former County favourite Andy Welsh started for the Glovers.

County started brightly with Poole seeing a header saved in the opening couple of minutes.

And the winger came even closer ten minutes later when he cut in from the left and hit a curling shot that Alex McCarthy turned round the post.

Yeovil threatened on 18 when Gavin Williams jinked his way into the box ands set up Dean Bowditch; the striker somehow missed the target with the goal at his mercy.

Bowditch redeemed himself three minutes later when he scored from close range after the Hatters wasted opportunities to clear their lines.

County might have levelled a minute later when Poole smashed a far-post volley wide following a great work and cross from Partridge on the left wing.

Five minutes later James Vincent had a chance when George Donnelly played the ball into his path and he'll be disappointed he missed the target from the edge of the box.

The Glovers doubled their advantage on 32 when, following a long throw, County again failed to clear their lines and Williams volleyed home through a crowd of players.

It might have been 3-0 seven minutes before the break when Gavin Tomlin played in Bowditch; Fon Williams made a good save.

Two minutes before the break County were so unlucky not to reduce the arrears. Sadler saw a powerful header from Partridge's corner headed off the line by Tomlin.

The second half rarely sparked into life with chances at either end few and far between.

County's first shot on goal came on 72 minutes when Donnelly found Ibehre who didn't connect properly and McCarthy made an easy save.

Two minutes later Yeovil made the game save when the impressive Williams headed Aiden Downes' left-wing cross past Fon Williams.

The Hatters pulled a consolation back eight minutes from time when Donnelly latched onto Sadler's knock down and smashed a half-volley into the top corner.

A bad afternoon for County was worsened by what looked to be a serious knee injury to Greg Tansey who left the field on a stretcher just a minute after coming on to replace Vincent.
