Paul is in his second spell at County, after first joining on loan in September 2009.
Born in Carlisle, he came through the ranks at Newcastle United, making his debut against Blackburn Rovers in December 2005. He scored the equaliser in Newcastle's 3-2 win over Spurs in January 2007.
In the summer of 2007, he moved to Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. However, he soon fell down the pecking order at Elland Road and in 2009 joined County on loan, playing nine games during his six weeks on loan.
In the following January transfer window, Leeds agreed to cancel his contract, allowing Paul to join County full time.
