Liam started his career at the Blackburn Rovers Academy but then spent some time out of football before playing in the Manchester League for Irlam MS and Swinton Town.
In December 2003 he was signed by Trafford and scored regularly before joining UniBond side Woodley Sports in 2005.
Despite injury problems he was a regular scorer for the Steelmen prompting Chris Turner to pay £2,000 to bring him to Edgeley Park in December 2005.
However, before he had chance to play his new signing Turner was replaced by Jim Gannon who immediately gave Dickinson his big opportunity.
The big striker repaid his new manager's faith with several crucial goals that helped save County from the drop into the Conference.
Last season was more difficult for the striker but, although he was mainly used as a substitute, he still managed to score seven goals.
