Dan joined County's Centre of Excellence when he was just 9 years old and, towards the end of the 2004-05 season, he was awarded a trainee contract.
He made his reserve team debut in a Manchester Cup tie against Oldham but the highlight of his busy 2005-06 season saw him on the bench for County's last four matches.
He came on to make his debut in the 3-1 win over Shrewsbury Town at Edgeley Park.
And, in the next seven days, the pacy forward added another two substitute appearances to his total.
He underlined his potential with another six appearances last season and will now be looking to make a bigger impact this year.
