The six-foot tall defender made his debut for County as a substitute at Elland Road when County were playing Leeds United in April 2009. He had joined County's Centre of Excellence around 5 years earlier and broke into the youth team whilst still a schoolboy. That debut at Leeds led to a run of games through to the end of the season. His performances saw the first year trainee rewarded with a full professional contract and his games per season have increased each season since then.
