Bernhard Hirmer joined the Hatters in the summer of 2011 as goalkeeping coach, when fellow German Didi Hamann was in charge of the side.
Hirmer was registered as a player to provide extra goalkeeping cover and, in February 2012 with County short of 'keepers, Bernie was named on the bench against Newport County.
He replaced Ian Ormson in goal during County's defeat at Southport, after the young 'keeper was sent off.
