The hatters doubled their advantage when Lee Williams crossed from the left to Kyle Wilkie who shot past Lloyd Ransome.

Vale grabbed a consolation with two minutes from the end when a wind-assisted clearance from Vale 'keeper Ransome bounced over Matty Bell in the County goal.
