The boys played the first game of the new Youth Alliance season at Manor Farm against Walsall on Saturday, which unfortunately ended with a seven goal win for the visitors.

Manager Stuart Delaney, although clearly disappointed with the result, was upbeat in his assessment of the overall performance. "This was a young side, with many of the boys playing for the first time at this level and whilst we know that individually and collectively the boys can perform much better, we also realise that sometimes you need to make mistakes to help you to improve."

With a week of hard work to come for the squad Stuart added "I know that the boys will be looking forward to getting in and working towards their next challenge at Port Vale on Saturday"
