Stockport County Youth v Macclesfield Youth

Saturday 28/8/10 Result 2 - 1 (Murty, Graham)

Starting XI: Ormson, Say, Brownhill, Williams, Lee, Ible, Pollard, Sunderland, Whitehead, Graham, Murty.
Subs: McDonagh, Parisi, Jennings, Gibson.

County Youth won their first game of the season this morning, the boys beat local rivals Macclesfield with goals from Steve Murty and Andy Graham.

A hard fought first win of the season for the youth team today especially playing against a strong wind in the first half. The boys kept the ball well and made several chances on the counter attack before eventually taking the lead just before half time with a fine strike from Steven Murty.

With the wind at their backs, the boys took control of the second half and within five minutes Andy Graham scored a beauty as he broke through one on one with the keeper before finishing with a delightful chip to double the Young Hatters' lead.

The boys remained in control throughout the half, although a late goal for the visitors meant a nervy last ten minutes before the boys claimed their first points of the season.
