County's youth side were denied a deserved draw against Oldham Athletic on Saturday as the home side scored a dramatic injury time match-winning goal through Ryan Ellison in the Football League Youth Alliance's North West Conference.
The young Hatters took an early lead through a Paul Sunderland free kick but went in at the break 2-1 down as Sam Fitzgerald notched a brace for the young Latics.
Jake Pollard equalised for County straight from the restart, before any home player had touched the ball.
Oldham's head of youth, Tony Philliskirk, described the game as "a great advertisement for football at this level".
County's own head of youth Stuart Delaney was similarly impressed with both sides, and was philosophical about the late winner: "As much as we felt that the lads didn't deserve to lose, it is another learning point for them. They have been excellent this season and are continuing to improve with every lesson learnt."
