Following its previous successes at National 'Playing for Success' Conferences, the Stockport County Study Centre has again been invited to show case its creative curriculum and staff expertise in Birmingham this week.
Best Practice
The 'Pro-Animation' workshops put on by Gary Richards, Centre Manger, Dean Sillett (ICT Manager) and key partners Roger Young Kudlian Software and Matt Fleming MCC Digital will be delivered to 'PfS' colleagues from around the Country and also from Australia and Holland. The Study Centre will be disseminating examples of 'best practice' to Premier League Clubs and other larger Local Authorities particularly in the way in which 'cutting edge' technology and creativity can be used to raise standards.
The workshops will show how Animated film and chroma-key technology can be used to motivate and engage pupils to learn, whilst also raising standards in literacy and numeracy. As a Regional Training Centre for Apple UK the Study Centre will also be offering a number of Premier League Football & top flight Rugby Clubs access to structured training courses.
Recognition
Gary Richards, Centre Manager - "It is particularly refreshing for us as a small club to 'show case' our work at such a prestigious conference with over 500 delegates. It is our aim to promote what the Stockport County Study Centre is all about... innovation, creativity and fun!
"The fact that Premier League teams such as Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Everton, Bolton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have already recognised the work we are doing, and that they are keen to attend CPD Conferences like this means that all our hard work has been worthwhile!"
Award
Out of a family of over 170 Study Centres across the Country the Study Centre here at Edgeley Park is only one of twelve to have been recognised as working at an Advanced practice level and is seen to be a National Centre of Excellence for its outstanding use of technology.
