SUMMER-TERM MEDIA WORKSHOPS
As part of its commitment to the Extended Schools agenda the Study Centre has offered a number of Stockport Primary & Secondary school children the opportunity to access free 'Media/Sport' based workshops.

BACKGROUND
The Summer schools further highlight the partnership work between the LA and Stockport schools, with Cheadle Heath Primary School and Cale Green Primary School pupils using the centres fantastic media facilities to create Podcasts, Mini Sports Documentaries, Comic Strips and Animated films.

Brinnington Project
Next week the centre will continue to Support the Children & Young people of Brinnington, through the delivery of a number of digital film and radio Workshops. It is hoped that the success of the Workshops will lead to the centre and its staff further supporting a number of Media - Sport based projects at the First House centre in Brinnington.

LEAD SCHOOL
David Marshall, Headteacher, Cale Green Primary School said: "This is a really exciting project for our children and one that I am sure they will really enjoy! 'We have been using the Study Centre and its superb facilities for over eight years now and by using its resources we have been able to enrich our own school curriculum. It gives pupils access to an extended curriculum, which supports the needs of all its learners. The innovative programs of study enhance pupil creativity and also help develop personalised learning opportunities. Digital film and radio is used most effectively to improve pupil's literacy and speaking & listening skills as pupils are given the opportunity to create pod casts, comic strips, mini films, adverts and animated stories. I have worked in three Local Authorities and the Study Centre at Edgeley Park is undoubtedly the best out of school learning resource I have seen and used'
