Scott rejoined The Hatters prior to the opening day of the 2016/17 campaign. After leaving County at the end 2014/15, the striker returned to his former club Hyde where he scored 24 goals last season. The 27-year-old almost retired from the game earlier this year, but after linking up with County during the summer, he has impressed the management team and earned his place back at Edgeley Park.
The popular front man has had an intriguing career, which saw him leave Oldham as a teenager to join Everton in a £650,000 deal, linking up with players such as Louis Saha and Mikel Arteta. He moved on to play for Rochdale, Southend, Lincoln City and Halifax before becoming something of a legend at Hyde, scoring 73 goals in 150 appearances and helping the Tigers to won the Conference North title in 2012. The former England C international rejoins the club on a non-contract basis, but has the opportunity to make his mark, as he did during his first spell with County when he scored 11 goals under former boss Alan Lord.
