County supporting RNLI at Edgeley Park on Friday

We are pleased to be supporting The Royal National Lifeboat Institution at Edgeley Park on Friday, as we carry out a bucket collection ahead of our game against Notts County.

See below for a message from the charity:

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea providing a 24-hour search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland. No matter who you are, the charity provides a ring of safety around the coastline of the UK and Ireland with:

  • 238 lifeboat stations & 5700 lifeboat crew members
  • 441 lifeboats & seven hovercrafts
  • 242 Lifeguarded Beaches & 1632 lifeguards on patrol

97% of our frontline lifesavers are volunteers and in 2022, Lifeboats launched 9312 times with 45 people on average aided every single day.

The demand on RNLI crews and lifeguards continues to increase, and people need our help now more than ever. As an emergency service and a charity, we rely on voluntary donations to power our lifesaving work.

RNLI Stockport Fundraising Team are incredibly grateful and excited to be at Stockport County Football Club this Christmas, as it’s extremely important to us to highlight the work of the charity and fundraise all across the country, not just at the coast. We’re always looking for new volunteers to join the local team to help as little or much as you can, so please do get in touch if you’d like to join us [email protected]

As we head into 200th year of lifesaving, we want to thank you for your support and for any donation you’re able to make on the day.
