Barry voted EFL Young Player of the Month

A brilliant September from red-hot Louie Barry has seen the forward pick up the EFL Young Player of the Month award.

The award covers the Championship, League One and League Two, with Louie rewarded for an outstanding month that saw him score in all five of our games in an unbeaten September, as well as registering three assists.

Louie becomes the first ever County player to win the award, which was first introduced in December 2009. It follows the news that the 20-year-old also picked up the League Two Player of the Month award for September, with Dave Challinor’s Manager of the Month award making it a clean sweep for County.

The Villa loanee has been in electric form since joining in the summer, setting a new post-war club record after scoring in seven consecutive League Two games, helping County’s climb back up the league table in recent weeks.

We entered September languishing in 19th place, but a stunning turnaround sees Dave Challinor’s side head into Saturday’s game at Harrogate just one point off top spot in second.
