Biggest gate of the season to mark Jim’s third year in charge

County are heading for the highest gate of the season so far when the Hatters entertain York City at Edgeley Park this afternoon.

A huge crowd is expected at Edgeley Park, as Manager of the Month Jim Gannon marks his third year in charge since returning to County in January 2016.

Almost 900 youngsters from local schools, community groups and junior football teams will be attending the home clash with City, thanks to the club’s Community Foundation and the Vernon Building Society Schools’ Initiative.

With the Blue & White Army expected to fill the famous Pioneer Group Cheadle End and more than 600 travelling fans expected at Edgeley Park, it looks set to be our biggest gate of the season, beating the previous high of 4,689 on the opening day against FC United.

Twelve months ago, County came out on top in the corresponding fixture against York City, as first half goals from Darren Stephenson and Matty Warburton saw County claim a 2-0 victory over the Minstermen.

The Hatters are currently the form team in the National League North, having won four league games in a row without conceding a goal.

Tickets will be on sale from 11am.
