Many happy returns to Matty Warburton, who turns 26 today.
Matty’s birthday follows hot on the heels of a successful Awards Evening at Edgeley Park that saw him claim Goal of the Season for his stunner of a free-kick against former club Curzon Ashton, as well as being narrowly pipped by strike-partner Jason Oswell for Player of the Year.
Prolific forward Matty, who is already contracted to stay at County until the end of next season, joined the Hatters a year ago, after scoring 13 goals in just 16 appearances for ‘The Nash’. Prior to his time with Curzon, Matty had also scored goals – playing either as a centre-forward or as a deep-lying striker – for Maine Road and Salford City.
Very best wishes to Matty from the Club – and from Hatters everywhere.
