Many happy returns to Stephen O’Halloran, who turns 30 today.
Stephen returned this summer for a second spell at County, having previously spent two seasons here from 2013 to 2015. His earlier time as a Hatter was sandwiched between stints with two other National League North clubs – namely, Nuneaton and Salford – and, prior to those, he was at Aston Villa for four years, as well as playing in the Football League for Carlisle, Coventry, Southampton, Swansea and Wycombe.
The Cobh-born defender, who can play at left-back or centre-half, is a full Republic of Ireland international who, 10 years ago, turned out in friendlies against Bolivia and Ecuador. And the Football Association of Ireland made him the FAI Under-21 International Player of the Year for 2008.
Very best wishes to Stephen from the Club – and from Hatters everywhere. Let us hope that he and we shall have an extra reason to celebrate later today at Southport!
