We will be hosting a very important bucket collection during Saturday’s 140th anniversary celebrations, to raise money for Wycliffe Congregational Church – the birthplace of Stockport County Football Club.
We are excited to be able to welcome Angela and other members of the Wycliffe congregation to Edgeley Park for our game against Preston North End, to hold a bucket collection in support of the church.
Situated on the corner of George’s Road and the A6 Wellington Road North in Heaton Norris, the Wycliffe Congregational Church played an integral role in the origins of our club’s great history. It was a group of young gentlemen from the church’s Sunday school that met and formed Heaton Norris Rovers in 1883, eventually becoming the Stockport County that we know today seven years later.
Your donations on Saturday will go towards essential running costs for the church, to ensure they can keep the doors open to everyone, particularly those feeling lonely or isolated. Thank you in advance for any donations you are able to make – your support is going to make such a difference.
