There will be a bucket collection ahead of our game against Chorley this Saturday in aid of Francis House Children’s Hospice!

Local charity Francis House Children’s Hospice is collecting around the stadium today. Francis House provides a home from home where families receive professional care, support and friendship.
The hospice provides quality care to the families of children, teenagers and young adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Currently, more than 500 families from across the North West of England are under the care of a hospice team of 70 staff.
Among them is Thabani, his mum, dad and older brother. Thabani has a rare chromosome imbalance, which has given rise to global developmental delay and requires round-the-clock care. He is a loving boy and has a big personality. Statutory provision of respite care is minimal in many cases, and Francis House provides support for parents who care for their children often at the expense of their own health.
“There are days that you just don’t sleep” says mum Busi, “and you still have to carry on.” When we first came to Francis House, I can honestly say it was amazing. I can’t begin to tell you how Francis House has made possible what we could only have dreamed of. To be able to have a place where you can have up to four stays a year represents a reality which otherwise would not have been possible.”
At any one time, Francis House has around 2,000 people receiving some form of support.
Through the generosity of the public the doors of Francis House are kept open 365 days a year and throughout the Christmas period.
