There will be a bucket collection for Charity Pure Insight ahead of Saturday’s league game at home to Blyth Spartans.
Saturday’s bucket collection will provide invaluable funding for Pure Insight Projects for Care Leavers, addressing social isolation, building resilience and connection, and supporting young people with developing independent living skills after leaving local authority care.
Please take a moment to read about Pure Insight below:
Pure Insight is a registered Charity which was formed in January 2013 as a direct response to the needs of local care leavers. Their overall mission is to provide care leavers with the coping skills, knowledge and experiences to take control of their lives now, and in the future.
Alongside care leavers, they provide a range of projects designed to meet practical and emotional needs highlighted by young care leavers aged 16-28.
People to connect with:
They are very proud to support over 300 young people through our highly recognised Insightful Mentoring Programme which provides a young person with a volunteer mentor to encourage, motive and support them to develop new skills, connect to their communities and achieve their full potential. Despite the disadvantages faced, with the help of a mentor by their side, a young person can grow and develop and change the direction of their life for the better.
Places to belong to:
They are also very proud to have built on and developed positive relationships between young people and our amazing team of volunteers, and have created safe spaces for young people to belong to and connect with each other. They hold weekly drop in cafes in central Stockport to support young people to get together for a chat; learn how to cook and enjoy a healthy hot meal; and enable them to take part in organised activities and community events.
Mental Wellbeing: They also commission a fast track trauma counselling service for care leavers who have experienced adverse childhood trauma, which supports them to process their experience and better manage their mental wellbeing. All their volunteers and workforce are trauma informed and understand how to best support a young person.
All the money raised at the game will go directly into their project work and enriching the experiences they offer to enhance the lives of care leavers.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. We are very grateful to you for your donation.
