Bucket Collection this Saturday – Stroke Info!

There will be a bucket collection this Saturday in aid of Stroke Info, ahead of our game against Ebbsfleet United in the National League.

Please take a minute to read below, and find out more about Stroke Info:

This charity was set up by our very own former reserve team player and now match day assistant Nick Clarke, after his own severe stroke in 2012.  Nick felt that there is not enough help, support guidance and information out there for others impacted by Stroke so he started StrokeInformation as part of his recovery journey.

To use another phrase from a well known, Stockport export, The Blossoms  “There is a reason why.” In Stockport alone there are over 7000 registered stroke survivors (imagine EP almost full) – that would represent how many lives are impacted by Stroke in Stockport.

In the UK Stroke happens to approximately 153,000 people each year which equates to 17 million worldwide each and every single year.

One of the charity’s patron’s is Michelle Wheatley whose name donned our “Pink” shirt a few seasons ago.  Michelle is also a stroke survivor but remains in a locked-in state almost 10 ears after her Stroke, at the age of just 27.  Stroke happens to anyone at any time so please please dig deep to support this wonderful charity as their motto states, “WeCareBecauseWeveBeenThere”

If you would like to donate but haven’t any spare change you can do it via texting COUNTY £1, £2 or even £5 to 70085.

Thank you in advance for any donation and support you can give us on Saturday and for further information please visit www.strokeinformation.co.uk
