There will be a charity bucket collection taking place at this Saturday’s League Two fixture at home to Northampton Town, for the ‘Forever friends of Uganda’ charity.
Forever friends of Uganda is a charity with a close connection to Stockport County Football Club, being ran by long-time County fan, Keith Mills. Its ultimate aim is to sponsor the education of in-need children in Uganda, in order to help give them a future. They are currently looking to raise funds in order to:
- Support both girls and boys who could not otherwise afford to go school. Their supporters currently sponsor the education of 130 children (from nursery school to university). Many of these sponsors are County fans!
- Support the urgent need to feed the children cared for in the Little Angels Children’s Home.
- Help with the running of a new skills centre they have recently opened – at the heart of their work is the aim to help give girls a future. There is a particular focus on supporting girls who have dropped out of school through pregnancy, and those who have been abused.
If you are able, and would like to donate to this important cause, please bring some cash with you to the game on Saturday and keep an eye out for our dedicated bucket collectors placed around the ground.
