Charity bucket collection this Tuesday for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

There will be a charity bucket collection taking place at Tuesday night’s clash with Gillingham at Edgeley Park, in order to raise vital funds for local charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The charity do important work right here in Stockport, where they train their puppies ready to become hearing dogs. The money raised at the game will go a long way to helping them achieve their goals, so please, if you are able, give generously at the game this Tuesday.

Please see below for a message from the charity:

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People train incredible puppies, right here in Stockport, to become life-changing assistance dogs. Hearing dogs alert their deaf partners to everyday sounds that others take for granted, like the microwave timer, WhatsApp alert and doorbell, as well as life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide monitor. These amazing dogs also provide constant companionship to allow a deaf person to feel confidence out in the community, and to sleep soundly knowing they will be made aware of any dangers.

The Charity offers a wide range of services to anyone with any level of hearing loss, including helpdesk, advice on technology and support to cope with the loss of hearing.

Come along and meet us at the Gillingham match next Tuesday and please donate if you are able – we’ll have our buckets! We will also have contactless options but not at every collection point, so please bring your cash to the match and help us change the lives of people with hearing loss.
