We are delighted to announce that academy midfielder Cody Johnson has signed his first pro-deal with the Club, keeping him at Edgeley Park until 2024.
The 17-year-old has had an outstanding breakthrough season, making his first-team debut for the Club in our FA Trophy win against Cheshunt, going on to be named Man of the Match after a composed display.
He has made further appearances for the Club in the Cheshire Senior Cup and in our FA Trophy quarter-final at Needham Market, as well as enjoying a successful loan spell out at Paul Turnbull’s Stockport Town.
Having played a big role in Damien Allen’s Academy side in the opening months of the season, Cody will now be a permanent member of the first-team squad at Carrington.

“I am delighted that all the hard work and commitment Cody has put in over the last 18 months with us in the Academy has paid off. He has a bright future ahead of him, and will develop even further as a player in the first-team environment up at Carrington.

It’s another example of the successful player pathway we have created at the Club for young players. Many academy players this season have been given the opportunity to train and play with the first team squad.”
