Keep up to date with everything going on at Stockport County Ladies’ team, as we bring you weekly updates from life over at Stockport Sports Village.
Here’s what’s been happening this week:
Under 16s crowned Champions!
A 5-0 win against Hindley Juniors on Saturday saw our brilliant U16s side crowned Champions of the South Manchester Girl’s League U16 Division 2. The team recovered from a rocky start to the season to finish top of the pile in the end, with goals from Grace, Lucy, Cassie and a brace from Charlotte sealing the title.
We’d like to say a big congratulations to Coaches Alisha Bethell and Maia Lewis, as well as all the girls on their fantastic achievement.
Abbie Carrington re-signs:
There was a new/old signing made for the first team last week, as a familiar face returned to Stockport Sports Village with the re-signing of defender Abbie Carrington.
Abbie returns to the Club after a short spell away at Mersey Valley FC, with the tough tackling defender signing in time to play in last Sunday’s match against Bradford City, which the first-team lost narrowly 3-2.
“I’m looking forward to working with Abbie, and I’m sure she’ll fit right into our squad and is looking forward to renewing her partnership with Fran Davies at the back”, manager Steve O’Hara said ahead of the game.
Under 18s through to County Cup Final
The Under 18s beat Peninsula Stars JFC 3-1 at the weekend, to go through to the final of the Cheshire FA Under 18s County Cup. Congratulations to the team on this great achievement – follow the Ladies team on social media for information on the final!
