Returning defender Jamie Stott and manager Jim Gannon have expressed their delight at the being reunited once again.
Centre half Stott only left the club a month ago, but having seen his chances dry up under new manager Paul Scholes at Oldham, Jim Gannon wasted little time bringing the popular youngster back to Edgeley Park.
Speaking to Chris Ridgway, Jim said he was “surprised” that Oldham hadn’t found a way to work Jamie into the team, but appreciated the permission from Oldham, who had agreed that regular first team football was the best outcome.
When asked about how he felt coming back to The Hatters, and the response he’d received from the fans, Stott said the support he’d had and the feedback online was “overwhelming”, stating that it “felt great” to be back.
The honeymoon period may well be a short one though, as the task on Saturday will leave little room for sentiment. Visitors Spennymoor have shown incredible form this season, and have similar hopes to those of the high flying Hatters.
With only one place between the sides, and the Moors holding a game in hand, both manager and player agree that the game could have huge permutations, and have an impact on how the season plays out for the Vanarama National League North.
Following the conversation with Jim and Jamie, Chris Ridgway and Martin Johnston pick over the week in the lives of Stockport County fans, and discuss the incredible Tuesday night trip to Maidstone.
Also discussed is usual “One to Watch” feature, the guys picking who could be this week’s key man for Stockport County.
